Downtown Discussion Group
The group will engage in a year long study devoted to reading and discussing Avishai Margalit’s The Ethics of Memory. From the jacket: “The Ethics of Memory draws on the resources of millennia of Estern philosophy and religion to provide us with healing ideas, that will engage all of us who care about the nature of our relations to others.
This book won the 2002 Foreword Magazine Book of the Year Award Philosophy Category.”
Avishai Margalit is the George F. Kennan Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, and Professor Emeritus in Philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
