Tashlich

Annual ceremony and games. Following early dismissal from religious school

Join us at Gravelly Point Park next to National Airport (same location as in previous years) for a Tashlich ceremony, traditionally held on the Sunday following Rosh Hashanah, followed by fun and food. The time is at 12:30 p.m., following early dismissal from religious school.

Once you have parked, look for Temple Micah teachers, who will point the way to our location along the water. During the tashlich ceremony, we will cast bread upon the Potomac to symbolize the casting of sins upon the water. Then we'll enjoy the morning with frisbee, softball, and much more. Bring picnic lunch--or enjoy a bagel and coffee from Micah Mocah--a blanket to sit on, and frisbees, balls, bats, etc.

Directions (red lines show suggested bike routes):

Driving/By Car:The parking area is only accessible from the northbound lanes of the George Washington Parkway.

If you are coming from the South, the parking area is on the right side of the road, about a quarter mile past the end of the airport.

If you are coming from the North, the best option is to turn around using the airport. Simply take the National Airport exit and follow the sign toward terminal B & C. Drive right past the terminal and follow the signs to Washington and Airport Exit. Once you get back on the Parkway, you will be heading North. The parking area is about a quarter mile ahead on the right.

By Metro: The closest Metro station to the park is National Airport. From the Metro station, use the Mount Vernon trail, heading North towards D.C.; it will be on the right.
