Kulanu Participates in DC Gay Pride Day

TM's Kulanu has a booth at the Annual DC Gay Pride Day--please join in the celebration of our diversity

Booth - DC Gay Pride Day

This is Temple Micah's sixth year of participation at DC Gay Pride. Kulanu is looking for volunteers to help staff the Temple Micah booth at the Pride 2006 Street Fair, Sunday June 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We also need some help at the beginning and end of the day setting up and taking down the booth.

Just like last year, we want the diversity of Temple Micah to be reflected at our information table. We welcome everybody to participate with this outreach project to DC's Jewish GLBT community, letting them know that we are a welcoming, inclusive congregation.

You only need to commit to an hour or two at the booth. You'll get to chat with prospective new members and tell them about your personal Micah experiences. Last year's volunteers found their time spent at the fair to be very rewarding and fun. We pass out literature about the Temple and the Religious School to people who visit the booth.  The weather is usually nice, and like any street fair the atmosphere is upbeat.  It’s a good opportunity to do a mitzvah for the Temple, get some fresh air, and spend some relaxed time with other Temple members – and maybe meet some future members, too!  Volunteers also get a nifty “Temple Micah Pride” T-shirt.

At previous Pride events, we had many inquiries for more information about Micah and our membership grew as a result of our participation at the fair. We hope to achieve the same result again this year.

Please email to sign up for your shift at our Pride booth.
