Ski Club

Sponsors annual ski trips, typically for a week in Europe or West in January

2010

Members of the Temple Micah Ski Club are getting ready to head to the French Alps for a week of skiing--Jan. 23-30--at Megev, a ski resort on the border of Italy and not far from Chamonix. Sorry, but no reservations can be taken at this time. There's always next year.....

2009 Trip

The group returned to Europe to ski Italy and France during the week of Jan. 24-31. Our gateway city was Milan--itself worth the journey--and our destination was the Italian ski resort of Courmayeur in the Alps on the French border. Chamonix, the popular French resort, is on the other side of the mountain and the group went there one day to ski. In Courmayeur, we stayed at the Le Pavillon, a pleasant hotel in the heart of town with spectacular food. The snow was excellent, the lifts efficient and the skiing a good combination of difficult, medium and easy.

2008 Trip

Breaking from tradition a bit, the ski club traveled to Banff, Canada, to ski Lake Louise and Sunshine Village ski areas during the week of Jan. 12-19, 2008, staying at the Brewster Inn (3.5 stars in the middle of Banff). Ski conditions were much better than in 2007, but the snow was not as good as it was in the Banff the previous year. This year we went to a different restaurant each night and had very modest continental breakfasts at the hotel.  Some photos of the trip are posted at www.flickr.com (look for "TMskitrip2008").

2007 Trip

Temple Micah's Ski Club traveled to Kitzbuhel, Austria, to ski Jan. 13-20, 2007. Although the snow was not great, the Spring ski conditions allowed people to comfortably hike the trails and visit the real medieval town, as well as taking side trips to Salzburg and Innsbruck. Several participants have posted pictures of the trip on various websites, including Ed Grossman's 103 pictures at www.flickr.com (please type in find a photo of... "TMskitrip2007")--including pictures of Salzberg, Munich (& Dachau), Vienna, and Budapest; Pete Reiniger's 166 photos at www.snapfish.com; and [link to be clarified shortly] Jerry Liebenau's photos at www.Kodakgallery.com (under Kitzbuhel 2007).
