Temple Micah Cooks-Sample Menus

This page has sample menus used for events catered by Temple Micah Cooks.

The cooks make a very wide variety of cuisines. The only limitations, because food is served at the Temple, is no pork and no shellfish. Note that we are NOT strictly kosher (the Temple Micah kitchen is not kashered) and we can serve dairy and meat at the same meal.

Temple Micah Cooks Buffet Favorites:

Vegetables:

  • Black bean dip with tostados
  • Black bean pate with baby carrots or endive spoons
  • Crudites with dips (garlic cheese, pesto, curry, etc)
  • Eggplant caviar on cucumber rounds or endive spoons
  • Mufalletta (olive salad) with provolone on Italian bread
  • Orange ginger carrots
  • Pita bread with humus or babaganough or mini pita bread sandwiches with cucumbers
  • Raspberry beets
  • Roasted and marianated green beans

Salads:

  • Black bean salad with red peppers and cilantro
  • Bulgur, lentil, chard salad with currents and pine nuts
  • Couscous with dried fruits and nuts
  • Caesar salad
  • Larb chicken salad
  • Orzo salad with feta cheese
  • Salad Nicoise
  • Tabbouleh salad with endive spoons
  • Tuna white bean salad

Dairy:

  • Cheese platters with olives, dried and/or fresh fruit and crackers
  • Kugels (veggie or sweet)
  • Mini quiches
  • Rosemary fig confit with brie on french bread rounds
  • Quesidillas
  • Umbrian pizza

Poultry/meat:

  • Chopped liver on challah slices
  • Marinated and grilled chicken skewers or chicken satay
  • Marinated flank steak on skewers
  • Smoked turkey, cranberry relish on sweet potato biscuits
  • Pates

Fish:

  • Gravlox with mustard sauce on black bread
  • Miniature bagels with whitefish salad, salmon mousse, or lox-cream cheese spread
  • Seviche
  • Smoked trout on endive or english cucumber rounds
  • Smoked salmon and herb cheese spread on "Marvelous Market" breads

Desserts:

  • Apple torte
  • Biscotti
  • Chocolate mint chip cookies
  • Lemon squares
  • Mexican wedding cakes
  • Oatmeal cranberry coconut cookies

Pricing: Please email TM Cooks Coordinator. The price for catering by Temple Micah Cooks varies depending upon the menu and services. A portion of the cost of the event will be tax-deductible as a donation to Temple Micah--the TM Cooks Coordinator will indicate that portion that exceeds the "market value" and that is tax deductible. However, the portion that represents the market value is NOT deductible.
