Frank Rich, Robert Satloff to be Featured at Micah Book Fair

The Temple Micah Book Fair takes place at Politics & Prose on Sunday, Nov. 19. This event raises money for the temple through book purchases, and is also an opportunity for members to socialize in the cafe, hear the youth choir and listen to two prominent authors discuss their provocative and noteworthy new books.

At 1 p.m., Robert Satloff will discuss Among the Righteous: Lost Stories from the Holocaust's Long Reach into Arab Lands, his chronicle of Arabs who helped save Jews during the Holocaust. And at 4 p.m.--in a book talk relocated to Adas Israel Congregation due to its popularity --New York Times columnist Frank Rich discusses The Greatest Story Ever Sold: The Decline and Fall of Truth from 9/11 to Katrina--his stinging critique of the Bush administration. For the latter event, admission at the door is $12, but those who buy the book at P&P get two free tickets.

Politics & Prose is located at 5015 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Check its website for updates on these and other events.

As a prelude to this year's book fair, Micah authors are speaking at Friday evening services: Michael Feuer on Nov. 10 (Moderating the Debate: Rationality and the Promise of American Education) and Pulitzer Prize winner Kai Bird on Nov. 17 (American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer). Julia Sweig addressed the congregation in October (Friendly Fire: Losing Friends and Making Enemies in the Anti-American Century). Copies of their books will be available at Politics & Prose.
