Thanks for Your Support
(November 2004 Vine)
Before I fill you in on whats happening in the Religious School, I want to take a minute to thank the entire Temple Micah community for their loving support during my surgery and recovery this September. I especially want to thank the entire Micah staff and the incredible team of parent volunteers for all of the hard work they put in to make the first days of school a success.
November brings us the annual Temple Micah Book Fair and with it, the first of our community havdalah programs. Families are invited to join us on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 4-6 pm for an afternoon of learning and fun for all ages. There will be programming for both children and adults, including a discussion with Dr. Joel Hoffman, author of the just published book In the Beginning: A Short History of the Hebrew Language.
On Sunday, Nov. 21 Religious School families may sleep a little later than usual before they head over to Politics and Prose to do their Book Fair shopping and to hear the Youth Choir perform at 11:00 am.
The Temple Micah Talent Show may not be until Dec. 18, but I want to make sure its on everybody's radar. This fabulous event is open to the entire community, both to perform and to enjoy from the audience.
With regard to our school, growth continues to be robust. Enrollment this year is now 225, up from 200 last year. And for the first time, we have three classes in a single grade--Third. We have 26 teachers on Sunday and nine during Midweek Hebrew.
