Or Hadash Vice President Mirjam Jurmann injured
Refuah Shlaymah to Or Hadash Vice President- Mirjam Jurmann
Today our thoughts and prayers are with Mirjam Jurmann, who was run over by a series of cars in a terrible road accident last week, while she was walking to visit a sick founding member of the synagogue. Mirjam is currently in critical condition, and is fighting her injuries at Rambam hospital.
Mirjam is a dedicated woman who is also one of Or Hadash’s founding members, and who is of great influence in the congregation today. She loves to tell the story about how her grandfather was a Reform Jew in Braslaw Germany at the end of the 19th century to all of our guests, and takes great pride in this fact.
For the last ten years, Mirjam has been the chair of the liturgy committee at Or Hadash, and for the last five years she has taught the weekly parasha. She makes it to every Friday and Saturday tefilla at the temple, and has always been there to help lead services as a volunteer.
Needless to say our entire community is in shock, and we are all praying for her quick and full recovery. If anyone reading this would like to send a message of hope for a refuah shlaymah, we will gladly share this with her, once we are allowed to visit in the hospital.
I had wanted to write you all about the success of the visitors from Temple Micah, in Washington, D.C., and the with the CJP Boston-Haifa delegation, as well as tell you about Or Hadash’s many Passover activities, but in light of this horrible event, I will do so only in the coming day or two.
In the meantime, we wish Mirjam a refuah shlaymah from the bottom of our hearts, and hope for her speedy recovery.
Wishing you all a good week,
Edgar
