2011 Blood Drive

Our next blood drive will occur Sunday, February 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, date to be specified.

As in previous years, Inova Fairfax will be on site to administer the drive.  However, we still need your help to make the event a success.  If you would like to help recruit donors, staff the registration desk, and/or schedule an appointment to donate blood, please contact the coordinators of the Temple Micah Blood Drive.

You can find general information about giving blood including donor requirements at Inova.  You must be at least 17 years old and wieght at least 110 pounds to donate.

Previous Blood Drives

A great big THANK YOU to all of you who participated in Temple Micah’s 2010 Blood Drive on April 25!!! That includes those who donated, tried to donate, or offered to donate blood at a future date. Inova collected 40 units of blood surpassing our goal of 38 units! 51 donors registered with 34 donors giving whole blood and 3 donating "doubles" (these latter donations are processed differently and allow for a unit donation to count as 2 units). According to Donna Onwona, Inova, "These 40 units have the potential to reach up to 120 patients that rely on transfusions as part of their treatment and will help save lives."

In 2009, 44 individuals donated (or attempted to donate) and 36 units of blood were collected.
