SUMMARY:Earth Day 2026 - Caring for the Earth: The Power of Native Plants
DESCRIPTION:Join the Climate Action Group for a special presentation on the
  power of native plants to help people and wildlife. We will be joined by 
 guest speaker Dr. Mirele Goldsmith\, an environmental psychologist\, educa
 tor\, activist\, and co-founder of Jewish Earth Alliance\, a national advo
 cacy coalition raising a moral voice on climate change to the US Congress.
 \nPLUS: Take Home a Native Plant!\nRegistrants will have the opportunity t
 o take home a FREE native plant kit. Instructions from the National Wildli
 fe Federation on how to plant and care for your kits will be provided. Ple
 ase register in advance to attend.\n\nLight refreshments will be provided.
 \n\nRegister\n\n\n\nAbout our Guest Speaker\nDr. Mirele Goldsmith is an en
 vironmental psychologist\, educator\, and activist. Mirele is an expert in
  how to change human behavior to solve environmental problems and build a 
 sustainable future. She is the co-founder of Jewish Earth Alliance\, a nat
 ional advocacy coalition raising a moral voice on climate change to the US
  Congress.\n\nGoldsmith attended the U.N. Summit on Climate Change in Cope
 nhagen and organized Jews to participate in the People’s Climate Marches
  in New York and Washington.  She directed Hazon’s Jewish Greening Fel
 lowship\, mobilizing 55 synagogues and organizations in the New York City 
 region to respond to climate change.  She has shared Jewish environmenta
 l teachings in interfaith settings\, including Kathmandu\, the Salisbury C
 athedral and the Parliament of World Religions\, and participated in the G
 reen Attica Symposium in 2018.
