DESCRIPTION:“The Mute's House” - An In-Person Movie Screening\nIsraeli/
 Palestinian Film discussion group resumes with an in person screening and 
 discussion\nFor the past several seasons\, we have been watching and discu
 ssing movies created by Israeli and Palestinian directors — films that h
 ighlight diverse identities and stories\, and present realities spanning p
 olitical\, social\, and religious spectrums.\nTo begin our newest season\,
  please join us in-person for a screening of the short film The Mute’s H
 ouse (2015)\, directed by Tamar Kay. Following the screening\, there will 
 be an opportunity for discussion and reflections as we continue to use fil
 m as an entry point and container for dialogue and learning.\nNo registrat
 ion required. This event will take place in-person only\; no live stream o
 ption is available.\n\nFilm Synopsis\nA building in Israeli Hebron\, which
  has been deserted by its Palestinian occupants\, is called 'The Mute's Ho
 use' by the Israeli soldiers stationed there and by the tour guides who pa
 ss by daily. The building's only occupants are a deaf woman\, Sahar\, and 
 her 8-year-old son\, Yousef. The family's unique story\, in the midst of t
 he Israeli-Palestinian conflict\, unfolds through the eyes of the young an
 d charismatic Yousef\, as he goes through his daily routine on both sides 
 of the torn city.
