DESCRIPTION:Philip Mayer\, Temple Micah's Music Director\, will share his p
 ersonal story and musical journey—the experiences\, influences\, and mom
 ents that shaped him as a musician and ultimately led him to Temple Micah.
  From studying tabla in India as a young man to performing at the Presiden
 tial Palace in Abu Dhabi to playing on Broadway\, Philip will reflect on t
 he path that took him around the world and through 15 years as a freelance
  musician in New York City\, and how those experiences continue to shape t
 he way he thinks about music\, community\, and purpose today.\n\nRegister&

 er is a drummer and percussionist specializing in jazz\, contemporary musi
 c\, and the music of the Middle East. His career highlights include extens
 ive touring with multi-platinum artist Natalie Merchant and playing drums 
 for the Broadway musical The Band’s Visit\, which won 10 Tony Awards\, a
  Grammy for Best Cast Album\, and an Emmy. He has performed at some of the
  most prestigious venues in the U.S.\, including Alice Tully Hall at Linco
 ln Center\, The Kennedy Center\, and on The Late Show with David Letterman
