 stream\; the role of anti-Black racism and antisemitism in far-right movem
 ents\; and how a liberal coalition\, led by the Anti-Defamation League\, w
 eakened the Birch movement.\nAbout Matthew Dallek\nMatthew Dallek is a his
 torian and professor of political management at George Washington Universi
 ty. His research and teaching interests include 20th-century U.S. politics
 \, political extremism and violence\, and the ebb and flow of the far righ
 t in modern America. He is author\, most recently\, of Birchers: How the J
 ohn Birch Society Radicalized the American Right (Basic Books\, 2023). His
  second book\, Defenseless Under the Night (Oxford University Press\, 2016
 )\, won the Henry Adams award from Society for History in the Federal Gove
 rnment. His first book\, The Right Moment (Free Press\, 2000\, Oxford Univ
 ersity Press\, 2004)\, appeared on the Washington Post's and Chicago Tribu
 ne's year-end best-of lists. He has written for the New York Times\, the W
 ashington Post\, the Atlantic\, Politico\, and many other publications.\n\
