 how her parents taught her to pursue meaning: in family\; in Judaism\; in 
 political action\; in books\; and in science. We’ll hear Jan’s reflect
 ions on their intentional parenting\, which she rediscovered while writing
  her memoir\, All The Ways You Taught Us\, published last year.\n\nIn 1950
 \, Jan’s father\, Mort Gordon\, waving a new PhD in theoretical physics\
 , and going blind from retinitis pigmentosa\, married Bernice Rubinstein\,
  who walked with a limp from spina bifida. Neither of them had a job. For 
 almost 50 years\, Mort designed innovative particle accelerators with Bern
 ice as his reader. Driven by curiosity and love\, they addressed one chall
 enge after the other and taught family members\, students\, and friends ho
