Machon Micah: 5th-6th Grade Overnight Shabbat

November 11, 2022 - November 12, 2022
5:30 pm - 9:00 am

Overnight event for 5th and 6th graders at Temple Micah, featuring glow-in-the-dark games, an indoor planetarium, Shabbat singing, and Parsha activities. We look forward to creating memories together as a class!

Student arrival: 5:30-6:00 PM on Friday, November 11. Students will check in downstairs in the library; parents are invited to stay for Oneg at 6 p.m.  A kosher-style, child-friendly meal will be served (buffet style) for students following the service.

Student pickup: 9:00-9:15 AM on Saturday, November 12.  All students must be picked up by 9:15 AM. A bagel breakfast will be provided for students.

The cost is $50/child. We never want cost to limit involvement; please reach out Rabbi Beraha if cost is prohibitive.

If your child is interested in the overnight but not ready or available to do a full sleepover, we would like to offer the option of a Shabbat Late-Stay instead. All students will arrive by 5:30 PM and the rest of the evening will be as follows:

  • 5:30-6:00 PM – Student Arrival, greeted by Staff
  • 6:00-6:20 PM – WELCOME from Staff
  • 6:30-7:30 PM – Erev Shabbat Services with the community
  • 7:30-8:30 PM – Dinner
  • 8:30-9:30 PM – Planetarium/Games Program
  • 9:30-10:00 PM – Make your own Sundaes
  • 10:00 PM – Parent pickup – Shalom!
