  1 pm on Zoom in conversation with Rachel Canar\, Executive Director of Na
 ture Israel (formerly the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel).
  Canar will discuss Nature Israel's environmental work\, as well its respo
 nse after October 7th to human needs and working also with Israeli Palesti
 nians\, Druze and Bedouin.\n\nRachel Canar\, Executive Director\, Nature I
 srael is on a mission — to make Nature Israel a green beacon for develop
 ing solutions to climate change and securing a future for our children and
  for nature. As head of Nature Israel\, she helps Americans harness their 
 love for the environment and for Israel into tangible support for the Soci
 ety for the Protection of Nature in Israel.\n\nBoth an American and Israel
 i\, Rachel is a bridge and cultural translator for both sides\, helping Am
 erican audiences understand the extraordinary work being done in Israel to
  protect birds and wildlife\, develop climate change mitigation technologi
 es\, and share solutions across borders.\n\nRachel brings more than 28 yea
 rs of professional nonprofit management experience with a focus on strateg
 ic planning and fundraising. After working for many years in Israeli nonpr
 ofits\, she started her own consulting business\, NGO Catalyst. The firm p
 rovided strategic planning and resource development for a range of nonprof
 it organizations globally as well as training for hundreds of nonprofit re
 source development professionals through her own school and several Israel
 i universities.\n\nPreviously\, she was a Hillel Director and an Associate
  Director of a New Israel Fund regional office. In 2006 she moved to Israe
 l to serve as the Director of Development at the Israel Religious Action C
 enter. She also volunteered and served as a board member for several Israe
 li nonprofits and professional peer groups.
