This very special Shabbat is part of the Celebration Committee’s work to honor and celebrate Rabbi Zemel ahead of his retirement in June 2025. Please join us to study the teachings of Rabbi Zemel’s grandfather and influence, Rabbi Goldman.
Grandpa Goldman, aka Rabbi Solomon Goldman, was one of the truly great American rabbis of the 20th century. He was simultaneously a Jewish scholar, Zionist leader, synagogue rabbi, sought after speaker, and all around Jewish innovator. On Friday evening, Rabbi Zemel will offer an overview of his career. On Shabbat afternoon, we will consider some of his Zionist writings and Bible scholarship.
