With overwhelmingly generous support from the Temple Micah community, Sukkat Shalom was honored in February to welcome and help resettle Amir, Sharifa and their two young children, who left Afghanistan last year in search of a better life in America. The family has made great progress, and Amir now hopes to purchase a car to give them easier access to Children’s National Hospital (where little Mohammad continues to receive weekly treatments) and to shorten his commute to a new job in Bethesda.
