Linat is wholeheartedly excited to join the Temple Micah worship team as the Music and Worship Intern. Linat grew up in Temple Micah, and cherishes her memories of Rabbi Zemel, Meryl Weiner, and Teddy Klaus. Her connection to Jewish life started here.
Linat received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Wooster, double majoring in Political Science and Vocal Music Performance. Her political science studies led her to research wartime human rights violations, gender-based violence, social contracts, and nationalism. Her vocal music education centered classical and operatic singing, as well as jazz and music theater. Linat wrote her undergraduate thesis on the relationship between music and national identity for the nations of Israel and Palestine; and found that both national groups used music to narrate their real and imagined histories, to feel connected within their national group, and to articulate to other groups who they feel they are.
Linat is inspired by awe. She feels honored to have found a mentor in Rabbi Slakman as she prepares to apply for rabbinical school herself.
When not at Micah, Linat can be found in a coffee shop spending time with her friends, in art galleries, or on a park bench pondering the mysteries of the Universe.
