I have attended every Wise Aging Retreat and each time I come away refreshed, enlightened, and with a heightened sense of connection to community. I get to know folks I might otherwise never meet and learn to look at the world just a little differently each time. That’s saying a lot for just one weekend.

As a relatively new member of Temple Micah community, I looked forward to attending the TM WA Retreat in 2022 so I could meet more of the members and spend some concentrated time in a spiritual space. I was thrilled to have 2 and a half days of making connections and forging friendships in a warm Jewish environment and staying at the outstanding Pearlstone Retreat Center.

I attended my first WA Retreat in 2022. The programs were a great mix of study, physical activity, and prayer with some craft activities to busy my hands. I had a blast and look forward to being there this year.

Would you like to join a vibrant community of elders to explore this phase of our lives together?

The Wise Aging program’s series of workshops, offered by Temple Micah to its members and to all interested seniors, helps us continue to grow and appreciate life more deeply as we age. New Wise Aging cohorts — small groups who gather for nine weekly sessions — begin several times a year. A new Wise Aging Cohort will begin after we have sufficient participants, who will be considered in the order in which they registered. We welcome expressions of interest in the form below. If you have questions, please contact us at

The book Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience and Spirit by Rabbi Rachel Cowan and Dr. Linda Thal serves as our jumping off point. The only cost will be your purchase of that book. Trained facilitators help us explore topics ranging from revitalizing relationships to forgiveness and reconciliation, from learning to live with loss and conscious dying, to cultivating spiritual qualities for well-being. Almost one hundred participants have already shared this journey through text study, active listening, meditation and poetry.
