February Lunch and Learn with Marla Gamoran: Changing Lives – Through Conversation, Connection and English!

In Israel, English fluency is often the gateway to better jobs and a more secure future. English B’Yachad pairs older Jewish professionals from North America with young Israelis for weekly online English conversations that build skills, confidence, and opportunity. This month’s presentation highlights the power of connections that bridge generations, cultures, and languages—and how volunteers transform lives one conversation at a time.

About the Speaker

Following a career in non-profit management and workforce development, Marla turned her lifelong passion for Israel into action by establishing Skilled Volunteers for Israel and its flagship program, English B’Yachad.

Active in the Reform Zionist community, Marla serves on the boards of American Reform Zionist Association (ARZA); Arzenu (the constituency for Reform, Progressive and Liberal Religious Zionists within the World Zionist Organization); and the American Zionist Movement. She has served as co-chair of the budget committee for the World Zionist Organization, been an ARZA delegate to the World Zionist Congress; and a member of the Board of Governors of the The Jewish Agency for Israel.
